The Institute for the Conservation of Neotropical Carnivores – “Pró-Carnívoros” is a private, civil association, with nongovernmental and non-profit status. It was founded in 1996, with headquarters in Atibaia – São Paulo state and develops projects throughout Brazil.

The Patrons Council gathers personalities who have an affinity with the mission of Pró-Carnívoros, respect for the environment and society, an ability and interest in assisting NGOs in achieving their goals, and who kindly accepted our invitation.

The Instituto Pró-Carnívoros is honoured and proud to be able to include the following members on its Board of Patrons:

Luciano Huck

Gifted communicator, who presents the Cauldron of Huck on Rede Globo TV station. President and Founder of the Instituto Criar, and host of Brazil that counts - stories that deserve to be told. He knew about the work of Pro-Carnivores and accepted our invitation to be one of the founders of our Board of Patrons.

Ciro Porto

Journalist and director general of Journalism at EPTV - a national TV station (Rede Globo - regions of Campinas, São Carlos, Ribeirão Preto and Sul de Minas), he is also director and presenter of Terra da Gente, and a special reporter of the Globo Repórter TV show. Winner of the Wladimir Herzog award (19887/88), "Best conservation message" (1997) and Líbero Badaró (1992).
